Lions Win Recent Games

The State Ranked Saltillo Lady Lions moved their District record to 2-0 with a 60-5 win over the host Yantis Lady Owls Tuesday night.

The Lady Lions jumped out to a 20-0 lead after the 1st quarter and led 35-2 at half time to crusie to the victory.

Paula Boekhorst led the scoring with 18, Haylee Clover chipped in 16, Ana Gallegos had 9, rainey English had 5, Christie Gurley and Tori Mobley had 3 a piece while Madison Simmons,

Malori Hogue and and Melissa Groenwald had 2 a piece.

The 17-8 Lady Lions return to District play Friday as they host the Avinger Lady Indians at 6pm.

 

The Saltillo Lions finished their non district part of the season with a 72-48 win over the A+ Academy Knights in Dallas Tuesday night.

The Lions jumped out to a 20-8 lead after the 1st quarter and led 37-20 at half time for the win.

John Van Holten led the scoring with 18, Lane Bench added 13, Logan Camp had 12, Mathew Gurley also had 12 including 4 three pointers, Walker McGill had 6, Calyton Wilson 5 while

Trevor Moore Branson McGill and Dakota Patridge had 2 a piece.

The 7-14 Lions will host the 4th ranked Avinger Indians Friday night at 7:30 to open District play.

 

 

The Saltillo JV Boys jumped out to a 25-2 half time lead against the host Knights on their way to a 46-12 win.

Jace Dunlap led the scoring with 11 as all 7 Lions players scored in the game. Ben Moore added 10, Levi Hoover had 8, Nathan Valenzuela had 7, Pasqual Fiscal 6 while Jabe Humphries and Hendrick Rios had 2 a piece.

The 7-7 Lions will not be back in action until next Thursday when the host the annual Saltillo JV Boys tournament next Thursday Friday and Saturday in the 8 team pool play tournament.
