Price Sisters Named Co-Citizens of the Year
at Thursday Night's Chamber Banquet

by: Bobby McDonald

"We could stay here all night listing the many, many accomplishments and projects that this year's citizen of the year team has been involved with," related 2014 Citizen of the Year, Karon Weatherman, in introducing this year's "dynamic duo."

Sister's Markeda Price Fisher and Kayla Price have been involved in United Way, Chaired the 2014 Campaign, and raised thousands of dollars for the needy in our community, while spending tireless hours working to make it one of the most memorable campaigns in history. Full of humor and always ready to "laugh at themselves," Kayla and Markeda are known for their fun costumes and novel ideas!

Then, you move to the Symphony League......the Rotary Club Spelling Bee, and countless other events all across Hopkins County and you'll find one or both of these individuals working tirelessly to make it happen.

Owners of Professional Land and Title Company, the duo has been involved in City Government, on Planning and Zoning Boards, and served in countless other capacities to make Hopkins County a better place to live.

On receiving the award, the duo explained that they were taught at an early age by their parents, Frankie and Glenna Jo Price, that it was a privilege to "give back" to the community. "And, then we had a special aunt who always demonstrated it right before our eyes," added Markeda. "She was out working and involved in everything and demonstrated just what it was to give back to others and sharing your blessings with your community!"

Congratulations to two most deserving individuals on being named 2015 Hopkins County Citizens of the Year......ironically, the award was given to another dynamic duo, Bobby & Frankie Price in 1993!
