City of Sulphur Springs Offers Marketing
Seminar on March 10th

From City Community Development

Businesses in the community have an opportunity to learn about innovative and modern marketing practices that help increase and retain customers.  In addition, they will discover customer service best practices.  Opportunities Strategies, LLC, hosted by the City of Sulphur Springs, will hold two seminars at City Hall:  “How to Grow Your Business” and “Customer Service Excellence”.

How to Grow Your Business:  This seminar focuses on marketing and customer retention.  Businesses will discover strategies utilizing online review systems, blogging, social media as well as personal connectivity.  The average consumer is exposed to between 3,000 and 5,000 ads per day. Creative and relationship marketing help businesses stand out above competitors.  Attendees will learn that marketing is much more than spending money on an ad and hoping for the best.  Instead, it is taking traditional ads to a call for action and developing meaningful relationships with customers.  This seminar is geared towards owners, managers and marketing professionals.  It will be held from 8am until 10am on March 10th.  Breakfast food will be provided.

Customer Service Excellence:  Today’s consumers are more informed than ever before.  Many will determine where they will make their purchases long before they visit an establishment to shop or dine.  They promote their experience on the web and their peers, other consumers, take objective reviews seriously.  Customer service can make and break a business.  This training focuses on building customer loyalty, images of employees at a business, creative greetings, active listening and asking the “right” questions, creating lasting impressions and proper assistance. This seminar is for anyone who interacts with consumers including wait staff, store clerks, gas station attendants and hotel receptionists.  It will be held from 5pm until 9pm on March 10th.  Food will be provided.  Attendees will receive a certification from Texas AgriLife Extension.

RSVP:  Space is limited.  RSVP by March 4th.  Materials will be provided. To reserve a seat, call Shane Shepard, Community Development Director, at 903.885.7541 or email sshepard@sulphurspringstx.org.
