"Love Letters"

Between now and Valentine's Day, Sunday, February 14th, we'll be bringing you a series of "love letters," written by the Sophomore English Class, taught by Wendy Ragel, at Yantis High School. With social media, e-mail, and texting, the art of letter writing has become almost obsolete......so, we thought we'd offer a more traditional take on the "holiday of love!"

Dear My True Love,

Your love is the the most sweetest type of love, your smile seems the make the day all the brighter. I wake up in the wait to see you again, i can drown in your those blue of yours. I can't get you out of my head. Your willingness to trust is the cornerstone of true love and we have the strongest cornerstone of any building in this crazy world we live. I just want you to know that love does exist and ours is the strongest.

    Your true love,

(From Billy Sartin)

Dear, Future Husband

I’m sorry for you already. I’m a lot to put up with and i change my mood like Texas changes its wether. But thank you for choosing me to spend the rest of your life with. I know you will be there for me no matter how dramatic i am. I know you will be there to wipe my tears when l’m sad and be the one who makes me roll on the floor with laughter for no reason. I know you will put my needs before yours even when i don’t deserve it. I pray that you will be a beautiful God loving man and that we will help each other to stay on the right path to heaven together. Please know that when you marry me I will never cheat on you or lie to you. You are stuck with me for good. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.

Dear my love,

I am not the romantic type, but you will always have me to be here for you and I will cherish and love you more than there are stars and the universe. How are you doing? I really hope you are doing great. I will never find anyone more amazing than you, more loving than you, or more kind than you. Here is a short poem I have written for you.

When you are away

I think of you night and day.

But when you are here

It is as if my sorrows disappear.

Wherever your journey takes you

My love will stay with you, and my heart, too.

However much troubles you are in

Always remember you can always win.

Just remember that I will always

Stay by your side, when when you are away.

Don’t ever forget about me or my love. I will always be there for you and I will always help you when you need it. I hope you liked the poem and I love you.

    Sincerely yours,

(From Jazlyn Jenkins)

Mr first lieutenant JImmy Cross,

JImmy, my dear sweet Jimmy I know that i haven't written you in a while but i hope out of the kindness of your heart that you're not angry with me. i'm writing to tell you the reason i didn't write you. JImmy i was devastated when your parents told me at the church that you had been drafted. I thought you were against it but i guess in your heart you did what was right. you know the whole town was really proud of you. I went to that movie theater, you know the one we went to on our first date. JImmy i've never apologized to you for that night. I've been going to church with your mother. and we go to the deli shop downtown every sunday afternoon. i visit with them to keep them companie your mother clings to your presence in the house. she cries looking at the photos on the walls of when everything was good, when they never had to wonder if their son would make it home or not. Your father's quiet now the only he remarks is how he wished that he could take your place. I've been asked out many of times but honestly i don't want to date anyone here i only wanna date and be loved by the man that tried tried and tried to only even get the smallest acknowledgement from me. But why? i treated you like you where not even worthy of my trash. The town girls think im stupid, for waiting on something that may never even be. Many of them are in serious relationships, and the one i love is millions miles away. Please come home to me JImmy i need to spend time and my life with someone that actually loves me for me. I don't know if you're done with all the confusing stuff i put you through, but i hope out of the kindness of your heart, you forgive me. Jimmy come home to us. Do  you remember what you told me that night before you headed out of town. You said not to tell anyone and i got worried and cried and you said that you would be back. I have many dreams and thoughts about you, about us. Jimmy i dream about the day you come home. the day that you return will be the day that i will be able to confess my feelings with you. It will be the day that we can both finally sleep at night without wondering if each other is ok.  I sit in this old town, refusing to move on with my life jimmy. My mother and i fight on the occasion on how i should find a man that is here that can provide for me and give me a family. i agree with her sometimes just to end the argument. She gets to frustrated with me, i try to ease her mind jimmy but it doesn't always work. Do you remember Tim Davis? He's constantly trying to love me. don't get me wrong jimmy his a nice guy. But he's also your best friend. Jimmy i tell him that i will never accept his love not until i die. He always ask me why, but the only thing i can ever say is jimmy.

You have really missed a lot around here jimmy, my father passed away in august. Your mother and father showed up and sat by me and my mother it was like a had two of my very own mothers there when i need them the most. I guess that's the things about mothers, they are always there when you need them. Please write me back Jimmy i missed talking to you so much. I feel incomplete without you. I love you Jimmy Cross.
